Kritik
Based on the story by James Ellroy, Kings Street is a film about corruption and justice. A policeman tried alone for the truth to seek and there are more enemies than friends. A predictable script and a familiar story only to provide an entertaining entertainment fun.

Kings picture from Tom Ludlow Street is a policeman and after the death of his wife alcohol very affectionate. Instead of focusing on law and order to be interested, he just wants revenge. Revenge of the death of his former partner Terrance. As evidence arise, the suspect with him, he suddenly against his colleagues. All those who he has held for friends seem now on the other side. Only his superior Captain hiking there backing him and reminds him of the rules that he has to accomplish. But then comes Ludlow behind the mystery of migrant.

King Street is based on a story by James Ellroy, on the adaptation of his own detective took part. The plot of the movie is not new. Good Cop against bad cops, a game about power and corruption, and untold truths behind the facade of a supposed friend. Only the occupation of the fighter with Keanu Reeves is a refreshing novelty, although not always positive.

Reeves game from the beginning makes clear that a policeman Ludlow, no matter which everything seems to be. Even at the beginning, he massacred alone a handful of Asians without an eyelid. That Ludlow despite the upcoming loss of problems, shows his frequent consumption of alcohol. Gradually, the viewer learns that the death of his wife, with work to oust searches by the investigation into corruption around from its own ranks crashes. In the course of these investigations, the tough cop but suddenly more and more like a little boy, with the time understands that the world around him evil. Again and again he stands with big eyes there, and slowly starts to understand that not every friend a friend. That contradicts the tough beginning of the film perfectly and puts the figure at Ludlows a unglaubwürdiges light.

The attempt to King Street with an Action films like Training Day tie or equal Reeves with Bruce Willis to make it thoroughly wrong. While David Ayer with fast cuts, a lot of blood and a portion of ordinary violence, a well thought out and exciting screenplay is constructed his film is not based.
